Adsense Payee name change-possible?--YES

I want to change my payee name given in my AdSense application.Possible?>>>This is a general question one may come across in forums and many members answer in the negative to this query, that this is not allowed by AdSense policies. What have i to say?..THIS>>>True that as per the Adsense TOS in order to protect accounts, publishers are not allowed to change payee names from their accounts.BUT THERE IS A WAY OUT> If you have a genuine reason to change your Payee name you can make your request on a separate form which is available HERE for the purpose. However you will not be allowed to make the change if:1.The change is required because you are trying to sell your Adsense account, which is not permitted as per the TOS.2. if you already have another AdSense account under that name.Google will make the necessary changes to your Payee name if you are outside the 2 points mentioned above and will send a seperate confirmation email once the change is made.Once the change is made, you'll need to re-enter your tax information and form of payment.Again in case you have already received a payment bearing the old payee name, which you cannot deposit, you may request a reissue, after the 25th of the month following your payment.

Harsh Penalties or Your AdSense Account Terminated

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

(0) Comments

The leading search engine, Google, focuses on the relevancy and quality of its abilities, particularly nowadays that Google is basically publicly owned and needs to keep both users and shareholders satisfied with the performance of its product.

The incorrect use of the AdSense and alternative advertisement methods, either unintentionally or intentionally, can result in harsh penalties, like being banned or having accounts terminated. Steps against perpetrators of unsavory business methods are definitely welcomed.

People can use AdSense to generate extra income. Consider strategies as well as other issues:-

Hidden texts. Advertisement pages using small and difficult to read text, questionable colors and loading pages with intentions of hiding link's to other sites will attract penalties.

Page cloaking. By loading a browser or bot sniffer to accommodate the bots of another page is unacceptable. It is a deceitful ploy to get visitors to click on links that you want them to, not necessarily what they want to see.

Multiple submissions. Avoid submitting more than one copy of your pages and domain. Submitting an AdSense URL as 2 separate URL's can cause termination and other problems. Auto submitters should be avoided (by those receiving submissions). Check if your domain has already been submitted on any particular search engine before attempting to re-submit it.

Link farms. Control your AdSense links as search engines don't do it for you. Search engines (particularly Google) frown upon link farms and you will be regarded as one if your links exceed 100 per single page.

Sale of page rank . Some sites offer their PR links for sale or trade them with other websites. This activity will see you being banned. It is permissible to gain a link or sell advertisements.

Doorways. Similar to cloaking of pages, this practice uses pages loaded with preferential keywords designed to redirect visitors to other "user-friendly" pages and is a matter of concern. Firms offering them should be avoided.

Multiple domains containing the same content. Search engines are designed to look at a domains registry date, IP's and a lot of other issues. If you are thinking of creating multiple domains with exactly the same contents, think again because it can't be hidden from search engines. The same applies to content reproduced over and over on separate pages, different sub domains or the forwarding of multiple domains to exactly the same content.

Several of the techniques described above will apply not only to Google, but other search engines as well. You will ensure success by building your AdSense in conjunction with pages for use by humans rather than for bots thus avoiding penalties or terminations.

Web Publishers Anticipate Bigger Advertising Profits From Google™ AdSense For Video

Friday, March 07, 2008

(0) Comments

Google™ has been promising video advertising since it purchased YouTube in November of 2006. And in the early months of 2008, after the longest drum roll in showbiz history, they have finely raised the curtain on the eagerly anticipated AdSense for Video program.

Just like AdSense, Google's™ AdSense For Video delivers advertising that matches the content of the web page on which it's published. But where AdSense delivers text-based ads, AdSense for Video delivers television-like commercials.

Currently, Google™ is testing the AdSense For Video program with 20 companies enrolled in a pilot program that will test both the strengths and weaknesses of the new advertising format. The testers are all English-language web sites headquartered in the United States and already delivering at least one million video streams per month.

Although Google™ has stated that the program will be expanded to allow for web sites based in other locations, as well as web sites not already producing video, it's not clear when this will happen-or how much publishers displaying video ads can expect to make.

The millions of web sites publishers and bloggers already monetizing their web sites with Google™ AdSense see this as good news and eagerly anticipate adding video stream to their arsenal of moneymakers. Google™, however, has been coy on the subject of whether or not small "mom and pop" publishers will be allowed to participate, or when.

The AdSense Investigator says that he's eagerly following news about the development of the AdSense for Video program. "The eagerly anticipated higher payouts for video advertising are still far in the future for smaller web publishers," he predicts. " Still, it seems like a sure thing that the spread of video advertising is defiantly in everyone's internet future."

Google Launches Pay-Per-Action System

Friday, February 15, 2008

(0) Comments

Conscious of the limits of its system of sponsored bonds which invoices an advertiser for each click carried out, Google sought since a small moment already to develop a system or the advertiser would be invoiced only when the Net surfer carries out a precise action. Veiled made thing, with the launching of a new service which will be integrated soon into the platforms Adsense and AdWord.
Today, each advertiser which uses Google AdWord to diffuse its publicities on the sites of Google and its network of partners (Adsense Members) sees invoicing a certain amount with each click on publicity. The problem with this system is that it is difficult to measure KING (Return on Investment) on line. Moreover, the fraud with the click can reject more the skeptics. Thanks to this new system, known as of Pay-Per-Action (Payment to the action), each advertiser will be able to determine for which action it wishes to be invoiced by Google.

That will be able to take the form of a filling of form, the purchase of a product or the subscription with a newsletter. The advertiser chooses the amount which it wishes to allot for each action carried out. The diffusers decide then which campaigns they wish to diffuse on their sites, according to the action defined by each advertiser, and naturally of the price fixed by this last when the action is accomplished.
This system is currently in version beta and is valid only for the United States, time for Google to grind its platform. Let us note however that this system is not intended to completely replace the current system of bonds to the cost-by-click, but will rather come to supplement the advertising offer of Google. For the advertisers, the service is named for the moment Per-Per-Action (Beta). For the diffusers, it names Adsense Referrals Beta.

Save your top queries

Friday, February 01, 2008

(0) Comments

A new upcoming features in Adsense will be launch on December 10th. This new change will affect your top queries reports. To prepare for a few upcoming reporting enhancements, top queries data older than a year old will no longer be available. In other words, you'll only be able to view top queries reports dating back one year from the day you're generating the report.

If you have important top queries data which are older than a year old, please run any appropriate reports and save them before December 10th. You may also wish to generate a report dating from the date you started with AdSense for search to today, as data not within the one year window will be continuously removed.

A number of resources are compiled under this tab, including the Help Center, Program Policies, and Help Forum. If you're looking to improve the performance of your ads, you can now easily navigate to Optimization Tips page or to publisher tools like Analytics.

If you need help with implementing your ad code or viewing your ads, you can try the Demos & Guides or Troubleshooting Wizards, all available under the Resources tab.

Allowed and clear

Thursday, January 31, 2008

(0) Comments

Hi readers. Thanks for visiting my blog.

From the feedback, Google had received, they say that AdSense publishers are concerned about potentially malicious behavior on the web, such as having their ad code stolen, to be placed on an inappropriate site. Therefore, they have come with a new features of Google Adsense which they call Allowed Sites list basically to give you more control and security concerning ad code.

The Allowed Sites list, which you'll find by clicking the Allowed Sites link under your AdSense Setup tab, is the place for you to list sites or URLs where you want to allow your ads to appear. Sites that aren't on your list can still display ads using your ad code; however, impressions and clicks for these sites won't appear in your reports, advertisers won't be charged, and you won't receive any earnings from them.

It is entirely on your choice whether to use this Allowed Sites feature. If you don't want to create an Allowed Sites list, there's no need to change the settings in your account; it will automatically default to allow any site to show ads.

To create your Allowed Sites list today, visit your AdSense Setup tab, click the Allowed Sites sub-tab, and choose the radio button for Only allow certain sites to show ads for my account. You'll then be able to enter allowed URLs for all your sites. Make sure to keep your list up to date when you add your code to new sites, too.

Pinning it down (to $10)

Thursday, January 31, 2008

(0) Comments

As part of our efforts to make sure that the AdSense account details publishers provide are valid and correct, we do a couple types of validation that you may be aware of: the Personal Identification Number (PIN) program and, in some locations, phone number verification. One or both of these verification methods is required in order to ensure the security and accuracy of your information so you can receive payments from AdSense.

In the past, our system would ask you to verify your information when your earnings reached $50. However, we've recently changed the threshold to $10. This lowered amount means many of you may see a PIN arrive in your mailbox soon, as well as a prompt in your account to verify your phone number. For more information about these holds, visit the links in the 'Required Actions' box on your Payment History page.

(Psst: If your all-time earnings are between $10 and $50, this might be a good time to learn all about PINs so you'll know what to expect. Or, if you prefer surprises, you can remain blissfully ignorant till a PIN mailer pops up in your mailbox. Just be sure you don't pitch it in the trash!)

What percentage does Google pay to its Publishers?

Thursday, January 24, 2008

(0) Comments

What percentage of Ad revenue does Google Adsense program pay to its Publishers? This is one of the most troubling and unanswered questions for webmasters. Google does not disclose how much percentage they pay to the publishers and it is perhaps one of the well guardered secrets. Here we try to bring out what we know and what we learned from peers about Googles payting policies and hope to shed light on some of the very interesting areas.

Dispite the secrecy behind this payment percentage issue, Adsense by far exceeds the over all payout performance compared to many other advertising options on most content sites. To keep the publishers (website owners) happy with Adsense is important for Google to keep Adsense as the primary advertisement source for Publishers and to the overall success of the program. So it seems that Google does payout a significant portion of the Ad revenue through Adsense program back to the publishers.

According to Googles SEC filing and an article about Digital Point published in Newyork Times (link here) we have reason to believe that Google pays some where between 70 to 80% of the Ad Revenue to publishers.
Why Google maintains Secrecy ?

The possible reasons for Google's secrecy on payments can be:
It's a program safety policy. I mean, if you think about it, if Google were to openly announce the share, then the competitors can offer higher percentages to Publishers and this could result in pricing wars.
The complexity of the process thay follow to personalise and customize for each case is hard to explain. Besides, its not static and fixed and same for all sites. And they can modify it whenever, however they think is appropriate without having to explain and ground their action.
Knowing who makes what would be a bone of contention for publishers.
Parameters for Calculating AdSense Payout

Basically, what we do know for sure is that Google receives the money from the advertisers any time an impression is registered or a visitor clicks on an AdSense advertisment. Then the revenue is shared with the publishers. It works like this:
the cost of the click is established by the “smart pricing” system — this is the price advertisers pay;
an undisclosed percentage is applied to this amount, that results into the shares for the publisher and for Google™.
Smart Pricing

Lets examine what this Smart Pricing is and how publishers who provide solid and focussed content can make use of it to their advantage:
Bidding: Pricing starts from the supply and demand ratio, settled in advertisers' bidding. (So far, not much we, as publishers, can do, except maybe for making your best keyword pick.) The price thus established is usually the highest possible, for there follow other factors that influence the CPC.
Potential Coversion Rate : The result is then modified according to the click's conversion potential. That is, it is not enough to just click on an ad, its value is given by the analysis of the actions following the click — registration, newsletter sign-up for example — in a word, its likeliness to turn into business results.
Relevence of the Ad: Further, the price of a click is influenced also by content relevance, the type of site on which the ad appears. Keywords and theme that triggered the ad are also analyzed. The more content-relevant the ad, the higher the price for the click.

It is logical that not all publishers be rewarded the same, but taking into account their potential as ROI holders. But we've already seen this as a factor analyzed through the “smart pricing” system.

Now, the shares of payment (between AdSense and publishers) are not calculated all alike, for not all publishers are “equal”; it is known, for example, that big web publishers get to negotiate the rates with Google. Why?

Authoritative, big publishers represent the pledge of high ROI, what makes them “most wanted” by advertisers. Thus, they will represent for Google also an important revenue source. Undoubtedly, they get to be stimulated to participate and stay in the program by means of a preferential treatment. That would lead to the deduction that smaller publishers are granted lesser shares.

Google states this explicitely in their Initial Public Offering Registration Statement (as filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 29, 2004):

"Typically, in situations where we pay a Google Network member more than the revenue we receive from our advertisers in connection with paid clicks on that Google Network member’s web site, we recognize the difference as cost of revenues. Due to intense competition for Google Network members and our limited ability to accurately forecast the number of paid clicks that will result, we expect that we will enter into AdSense agreements from time to time under which we will make payments to the Google Network member exceeding the revenue we recognize from the agreement. Cost of revenues also includes amortization of expenses related to purchased and licensed technologies."

But it is not necessary to be an “authority” publisher, or a very big one to convert well your site into money. Smaller sites can have excellent potential in this regard. In an analysis to determine the sites' “monetization” rate, we may speak of an “extended” smart pricing applied by Google.

There are some criteria which are unofficially but almost certainly taken into account, which we chose to expose here for you to see also our perspective on the way Google AdSense™ pays:
High traffic and impressions — High traffic is not strictly connected to the CPC. Targeted traffic is more valuable as it is likely to convert more. Thus, sites generating quality traffic (resulting in high CTR) will earn more. CTR seems to be taken into account by AdSense™ when choosing the sites for directing higher paying ads.
Site size and age.
High Page Rank (with all the parameters it involves — valuable content, relevancy of the inbound links, keyword relevancy).

After all, sites that would meet all of the above criteria are very likely to produce more, the higher their potential to raise a profit, the bigger Google's interest to keep them into AdSense.
